Start by drawing a shape that looks like a piece of thinly sliced mouse cheese. Once that is done you can draw one of the tire shapes on the right side, and the fin in the back of the car as you see here.
You will now start sketching out the formula one cars shape and design as you see here. Start with the hump which is also where the camera mount and engine intake is located. You will then sketch out the back of the drivers seat design, and then the top frame of the car. Add some detailing and such before moving to the next step. more
You can now start sketching out the shape of the hood which has a small arch to it at the front. When that is done draw out the flat square design for the wing. There is trimming and detailing to this construction as you can see. When this is finished you can move to step four. more

You are already on your last drawing step. All you need to do now is finish sketching out the frame of the car which hugs or sits low to the ground, and then draw both the front and back wheels. The rear tire is detailed with threads, and the front wheel is detailed with the rim. Next sketch out the front suspension that is attached to the front wheel as you see here, and then begin erasing all the lines and shapes that you drew in step one. more

Description: Here is the first tutorial request fulfilment for the day. Yesterday I was literally flooded with requests from the new request option that is now available. So, today I'm going to show you "how to draw a formula one" race car, step by step. At first I wasn't sure what the heck a formula 1 car was. So, I had to go and do a little research to find out what I was dealing with. This is what I found out. An F1 car is basically an open concept race car that seats one person, which is the driver, and sits really low to the ground. The engine of the car is located behind the driver which is why there is plenty of bulk in the rear, and the there is also front and rear wings. I'm not too sure what the wings are, but if I understand correctly they are the aerodynamic elements that provide these unique race cars with maximum downforce, and a small or little amount of drag. There is also something called “ground effect aerodynamics" as well. Each car is made from a material called “carbon fibre”. Yes, other material that is similar to that of carbon fibre is used as well, but the main substance is as listed. Like with other race cars there is also a weight limit that each F1 can have. In this case the limit is one thousand three hundred thirty four pounds. Now this includes the driver, engine fluids and gas, and of course a camera to record the car in action. Aside from the vehicle itself being super cool looking, one of the other important objects to this car is the steering wheel. Everything that needs to be done is right there at the drivers disposal. There is knobs, buttons, and dials and some even have a small LCD screen. The engines are pretty sweet too, most of the cars are built with a 2.4 litre V-8 engine. 1. Begin by sketching the arrow-like shape of the car's body. Use overlapping lines. One side should resemble a rounded triangle, the other an elongate shape. These outline the chassis and the center spine respectively.
2. Detail the car body, giving it a three-dimensional appearance. Draw curved lines along the sides, roughly parallel to the outer edge. At the base of the triangle, shade a parallelogram on each side. Draw a short line upward from the near corner. Finally, shade a large rounded shape in the center of the triangle. This forms the driver's compartment.
3. Draw the front wing of the car. Extend curved lines from the center spine, and draw a wide "V" shaped line just beyond the spine. On one end, use three straight lines to enclose a partial parallelogram, connect the curved and "V" shaped lines. On the opposite side, connect these lines by drawing a parallelogram. Draw a curved line across each wingtip, and from the center spine to each wingtip.

4. Draw the wheel, erasing as necessary. Draw two straight lines, and connect them with curved lines. This forms the tire. Draw a curved line across it, and draw a circle within a circle to form the wheel. Draw straight lines for spokes between the two circles. Draw pairs of straight lines from the tire to the center spine. Connect each pair with a short curved line. This forms the suspension system.
5. Draw the remaining front wheel. Enclose the tire using a pair of straight lines connected by curved lines. Draw a curved line across the top, and enclose a partial circle on the side. From the circle, draw pairs of straight lines to the car body.

6. Draw curved lines at the back of the car to enclose irregular shapes. At the tip of the chassis, Use straight lines to enclose a triangle within a triangle. This forms the rear suspension.
7. Enclose the rear tires using straight and curved lines. Draw a curved line across the top of each, and enclose a circle on the side. On the near wheel, draw a circle within the circle, and short straight lines between them.
9. Draw the driver's helmet, erasing as necessary. Enclose an egg shape, then use curved lines to draw the visor. Then, use curved lines to sketch the irregular shape of the roll hoop. Shade a rounded triangle on its front.
